Help us decorate Main Street and Darrell Almond Park this fall!

We welcome our businesses to decorate a scarecrow in their storefront and our community organizations, clubs, groups, and families to decorate a scarecrow at the park! 

As the only Scarecrow Stroll in Stanly County, we want to show off all of the creativity we have in Norwood! 

Participation and entry is completely free - just bring your best ideas to brighten up our town! Select judges and a community vote will determine winners in the following categories:

• Most Creative
• Most Town-Spirited
• Most Upcycled Materials
• The People's Choice (online voting TBA)

Winners will be announced on October 29th during the Fall Festival.

Important Dates:

• Registration - September 25th-October 7th. We need to know you're participating! Register your business/group with us by the deadline to be considered in the contest.
• Installation - October 1st-7th. Make sure your scarecrow is up and on display by the end of the week! 
• Display - October 8th-31st. Your scarecrow must be on display for the entire month so the town and judges have ample time to look and decide on their favorites.
• Removal - November 1st-5th. All scarecrows must be taken down to usher in the Thanksgiving season.
